Hello there, I'm John đź‘‹
This website exists for one simple reason: to breathe digital life into the photos I've captured—to let them wander the vast expanse of the internet, untethered and free.
I'm not chasing artistry or fame. I simply want to immerse myself in what I love. As a photography enthusiast and computer science student from Chongqing, China, I shy away from the term "photography"—it feels too weighty, too formal. Instead, I call it "taking pictures," a phrase that honors the quiet joy of the act itself. Seriousness has no place here; it only stifles the playful spirit that fuels my creations.
For years, anxiety shadowed my days—studies, work, the relentless uncertainty of tomorrow. My world churned with unrest, a storm of expectations. Then, one unremarkable day, I lifted my camera once more. Through its lens, I began to truly see: the subtle dance of light on leaves, the unspoken dialogue with a stray animal's gaze, the hypnotic rhythm of so-called "boring" documentaries. In China's unyielding tide of utilitarianism, where every moment must serve a purpose, I felt suffocated—trapped in a race toward endpoints that dissolve into nothing.
But I've learned to rebel gently: to linger with trees, to savor the meaningless, to move through life with deliberate slowness. We're all hurtling toward the same inevitable end—death, that great equalizer. So why rush? Why not pause, breathe deeply, and feel the fleeting miracle of being alive?
If you've stumbled this far, maybe we could be pals, swapping stories, teaming up, or diving into something totally fun together.
